Chantelle and Nicky Wedding at Memoire

Chantelle and Nicky Wedding at Memoire

by Laura Leigh on Apr 22, 2015

On a very overcast day in Gauteng a radiant and positively glowing couple got married at Memoire. I heard from other photographers that on this day it rained at all their weddings in and around the area. Although the clouds were on top of us it only started to rain once we stepped foot inside the reception. #blessed. So much effort went into creating such a gorgeous wedding. I loved their colour scheme of grey, blush pink, white and green accents. A highlight for me were the hand made hot water bottle wedding favours. The theme of this, as well as the gifts for the men which were chilli bites was ” Die Liefde is warm”. How cute is that?! Chantelle’s garter was also exquisite and was made by one of her bridesmaids. Another highlight (there were so many) was when Nicky sang a song he wrote for Chantelle. It was gorgeous and filled with so much emotion! These two were such a joy to photograph, not only are they both absolutely gorgeous, they are also one of the nicest, ... Continue reading →

Sarah and Chad Wedding at Four Seasons Westcliff Hotel

Sarah and Chad Wedding at Four Seasons Westcliff Hotel

by Laura Leigh on Apr 25, 2015

When I first met Sarah, this beautiful redhead I just knew I had to be her wedding photographer, and I am so glad they booked me for their special day. Sarah and Chad got married at the gorgeous Four Seasons Hotel in Westcliff. They got married in the Rose Garden, but this almost didn’t happen as it started to rain 15 minutes before she was supposed to walk down the aisle. The staff started moving all the chairs to a covered area, but when Sarah caught wind of this happening she made them move it all back. I secretly did a little happy dance when I saw the chairs being carried back up. The rain stopped 10 minutes later and the ceremony started on time. I loved photographing Sarah and Chad wedding! Sarah and Chad are a beautiful couple, and the Four Seasons Hotel did not disappoint. Sarah and Chad Wedding photos > Visit Laura-Leigh.com >   Continue reading →

Nomsa & Sonnyboy | Lowveld Botanical Gardens

Nomsa & Sonnyboy | Lowveld Botanical Gardens

by Eksteen Jacobsz on Feb 8, 2016

A wedding in the shade on a hot as hell day. In the simmering Lowveld heat Nomsa and Sonnyboy made their vows to each other on 31 October 2015 during an emotional wedding ceremony. The Lowveld National Botanical Gardens was the perfect setting for their colourful and jubilant union. Apart from the intense heat it was a fun wedding to shoot. The guests shared wholeheartedly in the couple’s joy. I found it also interesting to observe different customs and rituals with the overall result being universal: two people in love committing their lives to each other. The wedding cake was created by Cakes to Delight. Continue reading →

Patenorstor Sunset Wedding | Charl and Amy

Patenorstor Sunset Wedding | Charl and Amy

by Brett Nattrass on Apr 11, 2016

Not everyone really understands what a day the photographer has at a wedding, call it work, call it long hours – I call it an honour. Well, at least this last wedding of mine was an absolute honour. You may ask why this wedding? Well, firstly the bride and the groom are great friends, secondly their family are very close to mine for various reasons. The main reason being the fact that John, Amy’s father married my beautiful wife and me 10 years ago this year. He also welcomed my son into the church and he also stood by me when I was in a serious accident. These are qualities of a friendship for life and this friendship extends to the whole family! Being with this amazing family on their daughters wedding day was probably the most amazing feeling for me, I thank you all for the opportunity and the privilege. Congratulations Charl and Amy, you two are amazing and I hope the memories of that first sunset will last forever! I will most definitely remember it for ever! Well ... Continue reading →

Beautiful Baby Shower Photography

Beautiful Baby Shower Photography

by Sebastian Aitken on Jun 14, 2016

Beautiful Baby Shower Photography in the Winelands of Constantia Recently, I had been asked to do the photography for a Baby Shower that was held at Little Stream in Constantia, Cape Town - A Beautiful little eatery located in the forest of Constantia's winelands. I knew that it would be an amazing setup, which of course would make for excellent shots - So without a second thought, I agreed to do the shoot. This was my first occasion to do Baby Shower Photography, so needless to say, the nerves were on edge - But that did not keep me from doing the photography, even if it meant me being the only male among a large group of women, celebrating Michelle's Baby Shower. The Mom-to-Be   Michelle, the Mom-to-be as seen above is very crafty and creative, so with those attributes and keen family members and friends at her side, the event and setup had been done perfectly - the layout, decor and food, all amazing! Treats and Food The Treats table caught my attention ... Continue reading →

Michelle & Tommie's Wedding

Michelle & Tommie's Wedding

by Sean McSweeney Photography on Sep 3, 2016

The wonderful wedding of Tommie and Michelle in the quaint mining town of Cullinan, north of Pretoria. The ceremony was conducted in the historical St Georges Church in Cullinan.  For more than a century the Sir Herbert Baker-designed Anglican Church in Cullinan has served as the hub of Anglican worship in the area. Originally earmarked as a church hall, plans were later modified to create a small stone church. The foundation stone for the new church was laid in 1908 and the building was completed at a cost of £960.The church was designed by British architect Sir Herbert Baker, who was a dominant figure in South African architecture between 1892-1912. The church was built in 1904 as the parish church for the miners. The church is a simple square structure with a corrugated iron roof.  The first recorded meeting was held on April 22, 1906. The wedding reception was held at the beautifully elegant Victorian Manor manag and owned by Berthe and Jonathen Kershaw. Continue reading →
