I am a northern Kwa-Zulu Natal based artist and photographer and I particularly specialise in photographing weddings, families, portfolio shoots as well as a number of other subjects! I am totally passionate about the work that I do and hope to portray that in every aspect whether it be in my artwork or my photography.
I was born in South Africa in 1982, where I developed a love for the outdoors, Africa, wildlife and its people which grew in me from a young age. From early on I began studying art but am mostly self taught. My absolute love for photography, has won first and second place in the Getaway Magazine’s ‘Desert’ theme competition in August 2010, as well as a number of other successful exhibits. I have also raised over R60 000 for rhino anti poaching since November 2010 and am continuing to donate a portion of my art & photography sales to conservation.
I use art and photography to express my thoughts, emotions and passions. It has allowed me to discover who I am and find out what I have to say. I feel the connectivity of one thing to another and try to express these connections. I am inspired by the play of light, shadow, sheer colour, movement and atmosphere. Photography allows me to convey the absolute beauty in everything around us and to bring out what the naked eye misses. I love photographing people and ‘catching the moment’ in a natural state as opposed to the traditional (and most times uncomfortable) poses.
